The YLS has been designed around the goal of empowering immigrant and refugee students to move forward both as individuals and as leaders of our communities. Due to COVID-19, this year’s Youth Leadership Summit was done virtually. We look forward to this event annually as an opportunity to lay a foundation of community and support so that we may empower each other to go out into our own communities and carry forward the gradual shift for immigrant Iowans from generational poverty to generational wealth.
