This pandemic brought to light the experiences that have been lived by Asian communities. Hate crimes towards this group have increased, and the group Stop AAPI Hate has registered at least 3,795 reported incidents of hate against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
On Tuesday, March 16th, 2021, a white-armed man killed 8 people, 6 of them were identified as women of Asian descent. The names of the victims:

Asian Americans and Pacific Islander are suffering from discrimination, and here are some things we can do to help:
- Support small Asian businesses
- Educate yourself about Asian racism, and call out Asian racism!
- Donate to this community and individuals from this community.
- Sign petitions to stop AAPI Hate
- Volunteer with organizations to stop AAPI Hate
- Show support to your Asian American/Pacific Islander friends
- Reach out to your elected officials and demand for AAPI rights to be protected
